Mr. Ekkamon Phaetyanan, President of the Foundation for Children and Disabled Persons, and Ms. Ratchadaporn Phothong, Director and Secretary of the Foundation, together with the team, visited Nakhon Phanom to meet the Tai Saek ethnic community.
The visit aimed to learn about their traditions, culture, and living conditions. On this occasion, the Foundation provided 10 educational scholarships to students to encourage and support children and youth, helping them continue preserving their cultural heritage while also improving the future development of their community.
The Foundation would like to sincerely thank the Subdistrict Administrative Organization President of At Samat, the village head, and Tai Saek community leaders for their warm welcome and support in facilitating this activity.
......
The Tai Saek ethnic group originally came from a region connected to central Vietnam and China. They later migrated along the Mekong River under the leadership of Thao Kai Su and Thao Kai Cha until settling in Pa Hai Sok. During the reign of Governor Sunthorn, the Saek people were recognized for their abilities and strength in self-governance, and their settlement was elevated to a formal town, renamed “At Samat” (Ban At Samat), which remains today.
