Mr. Ekkamon Phatthayanan, Chairman of the Foundation for Children and Persons with Disabilities, was interviewed on the program “Volunteer Media for Persons with Disabilities” on the topic “Advancing Braille Storybooks Toward a Unified National Standard.”

🔎 Key Topics Discussed

  • The origins of the project to produce Braille books for children who are blind

  • Challenges in accessing books and educational resources for children with visual impairments

  • Key features and benefits of Twin Book Braille storybooks

  • The production process for Braille storybooks

📚 What Is a Twin Book?

Twin Book Braille storybooks are designed with a transparent Braille sheet integrated into every page, alongside standard printed text within the same book.

This format allows children who are blind to read independently by using their fingertips to feel and recognize the Braille symbols on the transparent sheet. At the same time, they can read together with parents, teachers, and friends, creating a more inclusive learning experience.

The project aims to expand access to quality learning materials, support independent learning, and promote age-appropriate development for children who are blind—helping ensure that they have equal opportunities to learn and develop alongside sighted children. 💙
