From visiting remote areas, especially on the mountains, we often see children wearing torn shoes to school. Some wear sandals, and the worst is that they have no shoes at all. ... The main problem is that hill tribe children have to walk from home to school. Some walk for more than 3 hours (10 km) on uneven paths, through mountains and forests, stepping on dirt, rocks, and water for a long time until the soles of their shoes are worn out, but they cannot buy new ones to replace them. ... This is the social inequality that exists.
This time, the Foundation for Children and the Disabled visited orphans and underprivileged children on the mountain at Baan Dek Sansaen Chiang Dao in Chiang Mai Province. There are many children who still wear worn and torn shoes to school. The Foundation, on behalf of all the kind-hearted adults, would like to deliver new shoes to these children to replace their old pairs, ensuring safety on all routes.
You can share your old shoes with the children on the mountain or donate to buy new shoes as you wish at
